The XIV Catholic Training Course for university students and young professionals was held from from January 16^th to the 24^thin San Rafael, Mendoza, in which 180 young people from different provinces of the country, participated.

A New Monastery in Alcoy, Valencia – Spain

By the grace of God, this past Sunday we were able to found a new monastery in Alcoy, part of the Archdiocese of Valencia, Spain. Mother Corredentora, Superior General of SSVM, Mother Contemplacion, Provincial Superior, and the Priests of the IVE, were present for the opening of the new monastic community. The members of this new community are Mother Maria del Monte Carmelo Martínez, Sister Maria Benedicta de la Cruz Guevara, and Sister Maria del Espiritu Santo Cantariño. This monastery will have the intention of praying for the Catholic education of the world, with San Jaun de Ribeira as its patrón. We entrust this great mission to your prayers.

The Walk of St. Jose Anchieta

A group of 3 seminarians and 2 young people did the traditional “Steps of Anchieta” from January 4^th-6^th. It is a pilgrimage that is more than 100km between the cities of Victoria and Anchieta, within the state of Espiritu Santo. This walk recalls the same one done by St. Jose Anchieta who faced the sun and the sea while walking along the coast with only the glory of God and the salvation of souls in mind. This year they brought a beautiful chasuble, made by the mother of one of the seminarians, to the National Shrine of St. Jose Anchieta. Fr. Cesar, the Rector of the Shrine, received the pilgrims and the gift with great joy.

Formation Meeting in Cairo

By the grace of God, we were able to begin this year and have our first Monthly Formation Meeting in January. On Friday January 26^th, Fr. Enrique Gonzalez, IVE gave us a doctrinal point that dealt with acedia (spiritual sloth), which is a capital sin and according to St. Thomas Aquinas, following the traditions of St. Gregory the Great and St. Isidore of Seville, acedia produces various vices and sins.
