Vow to St. Thomas Aquinas

On March 7, on the occasion of the 744th anniversary of the death of the Angelic Doctor, the entire Religious Family in Italy met at the Abbey of Fossanova to make a promise under vow to the Patron Saint of Catholic universities and schools. In this same place that Divine Providence chose for the passage to the true life of Aquinas and where the Priests of the Institute having been living and working for a few months now. The vow is: promising our untiring commitment to work with the spirit of the body so that the Center for Higher Studies becomes a reality and to be distinguished by solidity and thoroughness in the “scientific study of St. Thomas Aquinas as a theologian, philosopher and exegete, without forgetting or neglecting all the legitimate developments contributed by the theologians, philosophers and later exegetes and, especially, to the developments contributed with great clarity by the Holy See”.

It was made as an offering like the votive lamp that hangs on the altar of the chapel built precisely in the place of death of who was acclaimed “Louvre of the Church and the whole world.” That votive lamp will remind us of all the religious of the Institute who celebrated Holy Mass there or attended it, offering it for this double intention: in gratitude for the immense grace of Thomism that was bequeathed to us in its entirety as an integral part of the charism of the Institute to all the members of the Religious Family of the Incarnate Word and also, to ask Santo Tomás de Aquino to protect, accompany and, guide all the efforts that are made that thanks to his continued intercession the project of the Center of High Studies, may come to quick concretion, consolidate, grow and expand, for the glory of God and the good of souls. A concert was also held by the Totus Tuus Choir, of the Religious Family.

We began this school year with the celebration of Holy Mass and then the academic act. “We want each of our students to reach the holiness to which God has called them, to be men and women of principles, capable of putting the means to achieve their own holiness and that of their brothers and sisters. Our students must be in communion with the Church, recognize Christ in their brothers, see Jesus Christ in the Saints and love Mary Most Holy, having an affectionate and charitable behavior.

Pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of the Virgen of Chapi – Peru

This Sunday, all the sisters of the Province of Peru, along with the children from our Houses of Mercy, gathered in the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Chapi. There we had the Holy Mass, which was celebrated by R. P. Esteban Cantisani IVE.

The reason for this pilgrimage was in thanksgiving for the 30 years of foundation of our Institute and also 30 years since Our Religious Family is missioning in these Peruvian lands.

We also ask the Our Lady for the perseverance of all the members of our religious Family, and especially for all those missionaries who have passed through this province.
