“Solemnity of the Incarnation in the place of the Incarnation”

Dear Friends:

It is a great joy for us to tell you about the enormous grace it was for us to celebrate this solemnity (which was moved this year to the 8th of April because of Easter) in the very place where this mystery took place, and for which our religious family takes its name: the Incarnate Word. Furthermore it is a mystery that we monks carry imprinted on the holy scapular that forms part of our religious habit. The celebration took place, as it should: in family. For the festivities we prayed matins here, in our monastery, and the following day we participated in the Holy Mass and the Angelus in the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth, where a little over 2000 years ago Our Lord Jesus Christ entered this world in the womb of the Virgin Mary, by the work of the Holy Spirit.

After this participation in the liturgy, we had the festive lunch back in our house, and afterwards were able to share some time with our sisters and priests before each returned to their respective missions.

We give thanks to God, as always, for the enormous grace to live and be a witness to the Gospel here in the Holy Land, and we commend ourselves to your prayers that we may always be faithful to the missionary mandate, bringing to all souls the ineffable consequences of the Incarnation of the Son of God and his redemptive time on earth.

At the end we were able to go to the part behind the grotto, called the kitchen of the Virgin, which had been the part in front of the grotto.
